Wyoming is not only home to us. She is a playground. A parent. An adventure. A teacher. The Cowboy State with the square corners might get overlooked on a map, but face-to-face there is no ignoring Wyoming. Life is simpler here and the people are nicer. The skies are bigger and the wind blows harder. Its the best!

My opinion about the 9th largest state might not always be right (cough, cough, wink, wink) so I went out to find other locals and hear what they love about this state. This is what I uncovered…

I love Wyoming because…

“… where I came from I could never wear my hair down in the summers. I love the great hair days I have here. But also for its supply of VW busses and fields.”

-Bria

“… of the open sky and the ruggedness that you can find here. It’s residents thrive outdoors and the next adventure can begin at any time! Summers have fantastic weather and the winters will keep you on your toes, but Wyomingites will still be found outside all year round. They’re a tough bunch of awesome, down-to-earth people.”

I love Wyoming because…

“… of the sunsets.”

-Renee

“… the wide open spaces. The landscape is pretty and I love seeing mountains. And the fresh beef! The meat here is amazing!”

-Stacy

“… its full of untapped potential.”

I love Wyoming because…

“… the outdoors! The outdoors is so close. Not just like walking out the door close, but pretty much everything I like to do is outdoors and we’ve got a lot of that.”

I love Wyoming because…

“… the lack of people. I’ve driven around the whole state for 20 years and, while Cheyenne is the busiest area, I like that you can live the rural lifestyle without interruption.”

-Dennis

“… I can blow stuff up with fireworks that I legally bought down the street! Plus there’s no state tax, so that’s nice.”

I love Wyoming because…

“… even in the city, rush hour traffic is considered ‘bad’ when there are more than 3 cars at a stoplight.”

-Joe

“… there is no pollution. None! Freshest air ever!”

-Layla

“… the fishing is great. I always get a bite.”

-George

“At night, in this part of the West, the stars, as I had seen them in Wyoming, were as big as Roman Candles.”

-Jack Kerouac
